Parents everywhere want their children to succeed, and one of the simplest ways to help a child’s academic success is by making a quick trip to the library. September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Camden County Library System joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure that every student has the most important school supply of all — a free library card.

Resources at the Camden County Library are available to anyone who has a library card. Students can turn to the library for materials, programs and services that support academic achievement.

Specific homework help for both elementary and secondary students is available 24/7 on the library’s website through its Kid’s Zone and Teen Space pages found under “Using the Library” on the top of the homepage at www.camdencountylibrary.org. Students and parents can access these services 24/7 from an Internet connection at home or anywhere.

Camden County Library members with an active library card can even get free access to Tutor.com through the website. Tutor.com provides help from live tutors in real time, online between 2 p.m. and 12 midnight at www.camdencountylibrary.org/homework-help-teens.

“Our library helps students every day in different ways, both on site at one of our eight branch locations or online through our website — our virtual branch at www.camdencountylibrary.org,” said Linda Devlin, Camden County Library System Director.

“Students learn in a variety of ways and thanks to the resources available at the library, including our great staff, we can meet the needs of all ages and types of learners. The library has something for everyone — all free with a library card. A library card should really be on every student’s list of essential school supplies,” emphasized Devlin.

Families in any of the 27 member communities can get a free library card. A list of member communities and even an option to get a library card online can be found at www.camdencountylibrary.org/member-communities or visit one of the library’s eight branches: Bellmawr, Camden, Gloucester Township, Haddon Township, Merchantville, Winslow Township or Voorhees.
