A little more than seven months after a fire shut down the business, Short Hills Restaurant and Deli in Cherry Hill is preparing to re-open.

On Thursday, the restaurant announced in a press release it would re-open its doors in early spring 2017.

The restaurant is undergoing a complete reconstruction, with everything from the entrance and take out counters to the dining areas and kitchen sporting a new look.

“We are extremely excited to re-open,” original owner and long-time Cherry Hill resident Jerry Kaplan said. “Loyal customers stop by just to peer inside the windows as we complete the construction and I’m asked daily when will we open the doors. What a true compliment, knowing we have so many people looking forward to us coming back. I’m excited to finally answer — early spring.”

When it re-opens, the restaurant will feature a pickle bar, fresh menu ideas and Saturday morning breakfast specials. The new additions will complement old favorites such as smoked fish platters, challah french toast, New York style, triple-decker sandwiches and full course dinners. The BYOB eatery will also sport a full selection of wine provided by Auburn Road Vineyard and Winery.
