Vue Storefront 1.10 and the upcoming hackathons
Vue Storefront 1.10 is here, almost 120 PRs merged, check the live sites and upcoming events!
We are happy to announce that stable release for Vue Storefront 1.10 is now ready to test! In this release, despite stabilization and bug fixing, we focused on improving Vue Storefront frontend API layer and expanding possibilities of current features. Even more exciting things happened outside of the code world. Let me walk you through them!
The biggest release of Vue Storefront is there. The feature list — including 120 pull Requests is so long that it won’t fit in here.
We’ve added some cool new features like Google GTM integration, generic and extendable Newsletter module, and improved multistore support.
The main focus of 1.10 release was put into refactoring and improvements — that you can find mostly in the Cart
module. We’ve also fixed quite a lot of bugs!
Please check the detailed changelog.
Community driven modules
Core features are one thing, another is Community driven modules! You can find them on the Marketplace page and Awesome Vue Storefront.
Our beloved partners and community members added this month:
- Epi Server Integration by Making Waves,
- Odoo ERP Integration by Christian Gonzalez,
- Razorpay, Magento Address Book and Google re-captcha integrations by Aureate labs …
… and many many more! Thank You!
5k stars and growing
We’re so proud! Currently, the Github counter is showing us 5.3k stars and it’s growing! Our community recorded a short movie celebrating this moment :)
Live sites
We’ve just published the Live Sites sub-page on vuestorefront.io. Check out the implementations made by our partners.
Production Subscription Package
Answering to our partners and merchants inquiries we created a Support package that can be added to your Vue Storefront project. We’re providing you with production-ready Kubernetes, issues priorities, code review, and priority support. Everything which is needed for running Vue Storefront on production. All the revenues are invested in Vue Storefront Core Development. Check out the details.
CLI
Upon the release of 1.10, we also present a new way of setup and all its sorts from CLI
which is the all-time most favorite tool of developers worldwide if I must say. There are lots of benefits when CLI
methods are available such as automation in scripts in cooperation with other automation tools out there. Read more on how to set up a new project using the CLI tool
Native Magento 2 Indexer
Our standard data importers were designed to solely use the platform APIs to push the data into Elastic Search. This is precisely how the mage2vuestorefront works.
As flexible, this solution is, it comes with some severe limitations. One of the most critical limitations it has is the performance. Executing API requests for each product might have a sense for 1–2K SKUs but doesn’t work with the databases counting a hundred thousand items.
This was our motivation to create the native indexers for Magento. Currently, you can find two native indexers on our Github:
- Magento 2: https://github.com/DivanteLtd/magento2-vsbridge-indexer
- Magento 1: https://github.com/DivanteLtd/magento1-vsbridge-indexer
Read more about native Magento indexers here.
Magento MSI support
Thanks to our fantastic partner, BitBull, Vue Storefront is now supporting Magento Multi Stock Inventory. Special thanks to Alessandro Ronchi who made it possible and ensured high code quality!
What else?
We’ve recently been to Cluj-Napoca and Stuttgart

LTS and Vue Storefront 2.0
The next release — 1.11 will be a major step towards Vue Storefront 2.0 with quite a lot of refactoring taking place. We’ve refactored the modules API which will be used in Vue Storefront 2.0. By this move, most of the existing VS features can be used in 2.x.
It’s still backward compatible as the breaking changes will be separated to the non-mandatory modules. We’re trying to make the 2.0 release an iterative process without any revolutions.
You can track progress on our Github. The date however is not yet been set and it’s totally safe and recommended to start all the new projects on Vue Storefront 1.x.
After the 1.11 will be released we’re starting an LTS (Long Term Support) program along with focusing our core team resources heavily on 2.0 development! Keep fingers crossed
