Introduction

The Wall Street Club (WSC) at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus is a student-run initiative that aims to strengthen the financial knowledge among students. The club is structurally designed to teach dynamic concepts of finance, economics, and management.

We aim to strengthen the financial literacy of the students of BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. At WSC, you will develop basic fundamental knowledge of commerce, which isn’t taught in schools and colleges.

Owing to its multi-layered elements, the club aims to:

• Conduct a series of lecture sessions about various concepts and encourage discussions and debates for further understanding.

• Provide a platform for interaction and awareness for students to improve their competitiveness and efficiency in the job market. In the past, we have conducted webinars taken by industry professionals in the domains of business and cryptocurrency.

  • Conduct virtual stock, cryptocurrency trading events, and other competitions to boost trading skills and abilities among students. The annual virtual stock trading competition of BPDC, The Big Short is conducted every year in collaboration with Dalal Street Investment Journal and Bombay Stock Exchange. Also CryptoRun was conducted this year in collaboration with Roostoo App .
  • We also organized Empower in collaboration with Kregzo which was one of the biggest Finance related event in UAE. Empower is a event for startups to showcase their potential and get funding . Along with Startup pitches it also had some fun activities.
  • The wall street club organized a StockMarket workshop which enabled students to understand the fundamentals of the stock market. Further, the workshop included a variety of topics including methods to invest and how to trade. It was a two-day event where on the first day fundamental analysis was discussed and on the second day, technical analysis was discussed both of these were hosted virtually.
  • For the Technofest, the Wall Street Club organized a Bitcoin workshop. The workshop included a wide variety of topics focused mainly on bitcoin and blockchain. The attendees were given hands-on practice to understand the concepts.
  • Webinar by Kenish Shah, Co-founder of PropReturns, Class of 2020 on do’s and don’t while building a startup venture, steps involved, and much more was conducted by The Wall Street Club
  • Our club arranged a talk on Big Data and Augmented Reality. The speaker, Mr. Arjimand Hussain spoke on how the industry is using these technologies to automate the functioning of the various sectors of the industry and how this automation is leading the increase in the profits of the company and resulting in the decline of manpower required to do the tasks.
  • The Wall Street Club in association with Seekho brought the answers to these questions and more with a panel of industry experts from the Product domain who have vast experience from e-commerce to SaaS and more.

Our Collaborations

  • Wall Street Oasis: Headquartered in the Bay Area, California, Wall Street Oasis is an online finance community and one of the biggest distributors of online courses and finance-related content. WSO has been our collaborator since the Academic Year 2020–21. As a member, you get access to all of their courses and content at discounted rates.
  • Seekho: Seekho is a video-first Micro Learning-based Community. With Seekho you can learn just about anything you want to in a minute. WSC in partnership with Seekho brings its members a wide range of educational resources ranging from free workshops to paid boot camps.
  • Finshots: An Indian fin-tech startup co-founded by IIT Delhi and IIM Ahemdabad alumni. The company focuses on providing daily news content on financial developments. We have recently entered into a collaboration with Finshots and aim to provide weekly newsletters related to finance and other subdomains to our members.
  • Case Ace: An Indian startup with a motive of reducing information asymmetry that exists in the current situation of case competitions and interviews. It offers the world’s first course to crack international case study competitions like KPMG Ideation Challenge, Flipkart Trailblazer, Tata Imagination Challenge, and many more.
