Wanda 2021 and beyond

Phew! What a year it has been for Wanda! We are proud to look back at our first full year in operations, and as always so grateful for the talented and passionate people that have decided to join our spaceship.

In our nature, we are naturally more excited about the future than dwelling on the past, but we’re very excited about the foundation that has been established to deliver what we hope will be a groundbreaking 2022, where:

  • Wanda will empower millions of European urban citizens to take control of their homes and things — solving real problems for urban dwellers, enabling us to live smarter and simpler lives with the earthly belongings we care about.
  • We will enable consumers to make better use of their things, reduce the material footprint and help people make a profit from them. We will use our technology & logistics platform to remove all the barriers stopping us from consuming smarter: broader maintenance offering, super simple sharing of items, new logistics offerings and enabling customers to rent out.
  • In short — together with our users we will create a circular retail experience second to none that is delivered by the linear retail industry today. On-demand, when you want it, how you want it.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Vision, user feedback and data-driven product development
In 2021 we have continued to refine our tech and logistics, launched new asked for and relevant features including sharing of items, a more granular logistics offering, new strategic partnerships (hello 2022), new maintenance offerings and are soon to launch our very own packaging shop (…kick-ass Wanda-products on your doorstep shortly!).

After launching our first proper embedded maintenance offer, +20% of all orders contained a bike service. We believe we can significantly reduce material footprint from better maintenance and increased utilization of our things — consumers are ready, we just need convenient solutions.

Using data, frequent customer feedback, in combination with our continued focus on shaping a service we truly believe can serve families in cities better, is what fuels our rocket. Our product team has grown with 6 new software engineers and designers — yes!

📈 Growth, growth, growth
Thousands of new users have found their way to Wanda, and we have expanded our service from Oslo to Stavanger and Stockholm, Sweden. We have increasingly monetized from the quality and convenience that Wanda provides and see strong recurring & transactional revenue growth throughout 2021. In 2022 we will cross the MEUR 1 annual recurring revenue milestone at increasingly attractive customer lifetime values.

🚀 Operations ramp-up
We’re closing the year with nearly 6500 orders executed across our 5 warehouses — four of which are new locations in 2021. To serve our growth and incoming users across these three cities we’ve expanded our fleet of electric trucks and welcomed new operators/drivers to our team. Our staff of operators now count more than 20 across all markets. They are crucial to how our brand and service is perceived, end-to-end. We could not be prouder of the team we have!

😃 Super happy customers!
As a team — this is perhaps our strongest achievement. Our average NPS score, measuring the likelihood of recommending our service to friends, is at 94/100. To us, fine-tuning how we build trust, create relevant services and how the perfect Wanda-visit is executed is what we obsess with. From our web to the booking experience, to communications and how our drivers meet and help the customers in their homes. We’re blown away by the feedback, and can’t help feeling a tiny bit proud of this.
