Your Wanderverse identity across Web3

Ethereum Names (ENS) are a cultural phenomenon and there is no simple way to unite a community around ENS.

Until now.

Introducing WanderNames.

Starting Aug 15th, visit wanderers.ai/names and select any name you fancy to join the Wanderers community ENS: wanders.eth

WanderNames function like regular ENS domains, except bound to your Wanderer token, so you can rep the Wanderers family across web3 games and protocols.

How it works:

Connect your wallet to our claim page and choose a Wanderer in your wallet.

For every Wanderer you hold, you can claim one subname of wanders.eth

For example, you can claim rick.wanders.ethor always.wanders.eth

Example shown on Rinkeby Testnet

Once your name is claimed, you will need to make sure that it’s being used as a record (i.e. your address points to the ENS). To do this, click manage which will push you to the ENS website. On your ENS that you’d like to set, click ADD/EDIT RECORD.

Then, paste your wallet address in the ETH address box. This is the 0x address that you’d like the ENS to forward to.

If you are unsure if it worked or not, look up your .wanders.eth name on www.etherscan.io

If you see your ETH address as the “resolved address” then it worked.

Every claim is free (+gas) on the Ethereum mainnet blockchain.

FAQ

How many names can I claim?

  • Holders of OG Wanderers can claim 1 name per OG Wanderer held

How long is the claim window?

  • Indefinite starting on Aug 15th, 12:00 pm ET

If I sell or transfer my Wanderer after claiming, what happens to my WanderName?

  • Your name will work until the new owner claims a WanderName. The new wallet can override your name, either choosing the same name or a new one.
  • Owners can manage their names from wanderers.ai/names or app.ens.domains

How can I feel safe to interact with this contract?

  • Initially, we will have full administrative control including pausing the contract and withdrawing the domain in the case of a catastrophic bug.
  • Claiming will be open indefinitely and ONLY available on wanderers.ai/names

Will there ever be more WanderNames?

  • In the future, we will renounce control over the contract, and also allow other community members to deposit their domain name into WanderNames to share as well.

Can I rename?

  • Yes, but it will cost transaction fees (ETH).

Why “wanders.eth” and not “wanderers.eth”?

  • Wanderers.eth is used by the Wanderers contract and therefore cannot be used again for a new contract.
  • We like this ENS for creative reasons. It’s easy to make “play on word” style names using [name].wanders.

Why is my name not allowed?

  • You triggered the bad word filter. We have very few banned bad words. What would your grandmother think?
