Introducing the Wanderers Cast Collection
The Cast Collection is one of many milestones to elevate The Wanderers brand and put the IP in the hands of the community.
The Wanderers believe that story is everything. We want to give you the tools and freedom to explore, build, and create this story to be whatever you desire.
Holders of Wanderverse NFTs have full ownership and IP rights to do whatever they want with their collectibles.
In April 2022, we put out a casting call so you could audition your NFT for our short film, SURVIVAL.
As to be expected, The Wanderers community did not disappoint.
First, some context.
The first Wanderers short film — titled Genesis — premiered in November 2021. (And it’s really good).
This film incorporated everyone’s characters, but with a twist… your Wanderer is an iteration of the heroes of the saga. The act of minting them rescued them from the wormhole.
This is where your role in the story began.
This is passive ownership.
To make the next film more interactive we opened a casting call to incorporate specific submitted characters that could have a stake in the film.
This is active ownership.
The Auditions
Casting calls were open for 10 days and nearly 200 people auditioned their stars.
Holders were asked to sign a verified message on etherscan to prove ownership over the NFTs they were applying to the role(s).
The roles available were for Wandernauts, Wanderers, and Planets (who weren’t uncomfortable showing their interior surfaces).
With hundreds of auditions, not all applicants could make it into the new film.
And some definitely weren’t right for the role. (Looking at you Mysticist Halcyon Aphrodite GigaChad).
However, many heroes were excellent for the part. Including the leading role of the film: Comms Officer Aegis Sabik Snr
When we asked why this Aegis was right for the role, the token owner DeepestDepths responded:
Because she’s a badass Aegis with the only visible Saturn Earring, but with a big heart.
Being a badass with a big heart is what is going to take to survive in the Wanderverse. Because not all of our characters may be so lucky…
Many planets make a debut in the film, including Planet X and Kessel.
These are some of the closest known Anomaly orbiting planets. And the most infamous.
All current holders of NFTs credited in the film receive a special edition Cast Collection airdrop. These are high res (4k) posters that can be used for any purpose by the token holder.
