The internet is full of Top 10’s and 20’s places to travel. It can be taxing trying to picture yourself going to these locations, soaking up the sun and drinking all of that coffee. When there are so many “good” places to choose from.

Our mission was to narrow down our findings to the top 4 beaches, in hope to make this piece a lot easier to digest. So here are our, not mediocre 4, but TOP 4 beaches to visit. Are you looking for crystal clear water, black sand, or even a nude beach. We got you covered (pun definitely intended).

The beaches we are about to show you, do not lack in diversity and are not remotely close to each other. Which means, while you visit these beaches you will immerse yourself in a foreign culture, eat excellent food, you can claim bragging rights for successfully conquering the Top 4 Beaches in The World!

Let’s get to it!

Whitehaven Beach

1. Whitehaven, (Whitesunday, Australia)

Whitehaven Beach is considered one of the best beaches in Australia and #12 in the world according to Tripadvisor’s 2016 Travelers’ Choice Awards. Whitehaven features 360 degrees of real life HD views. The color is so vibrant, as you fly in via seaplane or helicopter you will have a flashback of Mary Poppin’s sidewalk chalk drawings, where the art comes to life!

If that isn’t enough, you can always camp on the fire beach; the beach is fire literally, the water stays at a bathwater temp of 26 degrees Celsius year-round. You might ask, “if it’s so cool, then when is the best time to go when it isn’t crowded?” Uhh. It’s seven kilometers. You’ll be fine.

If walking along the beach seems too daunting just launch yourself out in a Kayak or speedy inflatable raft. The best beach of Australia awaits for you down under.

Playa de Ses Illetes

2. Playa de Ses Illetes (Formentera, Spain)

Playa de Ses Illetes is a fashionable Formentera beach with many beachside restaurants. The old fashion integrity of this beach — no sun beads, old hut style architecture is respectable. The island of Formentera is home to many nude beaches in Spain, but hey new experiences right! Good news for Americans — if you are coming back to the states you may confidently rebuttal the phrase, “the sun shines on a dog’s ass every once in a while!” On Spain’s beaches, including Formentera, that statement holds true. If you are looking for crystal clear water then the Island of Ibiza is for you. Where most spend their night’s clubbing, then take a day trip to Playa de Ses Illetes. Giving you entertainment for a full 24-hours.

Music Reference: I’m pretty sure the white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise sea water inspired the Eurythmics to write “Sweet Dreams.”

Sweet dreams are made of this

Who am I to disagree?

I travel the world

And the seven seas,

Everybody’s looking for something.

– Eurythmics

Baia do Sancho

3. Baia do Sancho (Fernando de Noronha, Brazil)

When you are considered the best beach in Brazil with over 2,000 great beaches to choose from, that is saying something. The crystal clear water and sea life would make the Little Mermaid jealous. Fernando de Noronha diving is pristine, so make sure you get your certification before you go, these underwater views are nothing short of spectacular. The bay itself is surrounded by cliffs making it the perfect spot to watch for dolphins. There is never a bad time to go, but if you happen to be there during the rainy season (Feb — Jun), you will see two beautiful waterfalls cascading down the cliffs into the sea!

P.S. — If diving in Brazil isn’t your thing bring your binoculars and your bird watching book.

Punaluu Black Sand Beach

4. Punaluu Black Sand Beach (Hawaii, USA)

Black Sand Beach. Hawaii. Enough said.

Just kidding. Punaluu Beach is the #1 black sand beach in the world; located on the Big Island of Hawaii. If you are looking for things to do on the Big Island look no further. Although the swimming isn’t ideal, witnessing the coconut palms lining the edge of the dark black sand, and Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles is a reason to cross off item #24 off your bucket list. When Trip Advisor reviews consist of many phrases like this: “the unique scenery at this beach is absolutely breathtaking. Definitely the best beach in Hawaii.” The point is well taken. It’s a must to see! Not to mention Hawaii itself is filled with plenty of beaches and views making your stay perfect.

So there you have it, the list could go on, but we wanted to make it simple for you. Now all you have to do is decide which beach you are traveling to next.

Aloha!
