I’ve been on business travel in St. Petersburg, Florida for a few days and I head home today. Check-out day is a great day to let excuses creep in. You have this extra task to do, pack up and check out, which can consume the time you would normally use for exercise.

Excuses are like termites. If you let one take up residence, then you soon have a colony chewing away at any progress you have made, so you need to squash the first one. A great way to do that is get up a half-hour earlier on check-out day and steal some time for exercise. It doesn’t have to be much: a half-hour in the hotel gym, a couple of miles outside or on the treadmill, something that counts and tells your mind that you’re having none of the excuses so stop sending them.

The war on cubicle body continues.
