Black History Month Theater plays to sold out audience

The 4th annual event featured dancing, singing, poetry, speeches and music.

Advisers Eisa Jackson and Adjua Lafleur, and members of the Washington Township High School African American Culture Club celebrated African American culture with a sold out audience at the school’s 4th annual Black History Month Dinner Theater on Feb. 23rd.

Guest speaker Jacqueline Hall-Smith spoke about her travels to Africa and the importance of knowing African history.

The evening featured a keynote address by Jacqueline Hall-Smith, who spoke about her travels to Africa and the importance of knowing African history.

Members of the WTHS Jazz Ensemble, with their director Frank Appello, played the music of Stevie Wonder and Thelonious Monk for the Black History Dinner Theater.

The evening included dinner followed by dancing, singing, poetry, speeches and music as the event celebrates the international influence of Black people.
