Letter to the editor: Protect your freedom of speech

Writer: ‘If you give away your freedom, it’s likely it will never be retrieved’

In my opinion, Mr. Scheidell was right on the money with his comments.

Our constitutional Bill of Rights guarantees certain rights. Our founding fathers considered these rights to be inalienable and God given. These rights apply to all people, not just certain groups.

One of the rights is freedom of speech. What some fail to understand is that these rights are for everyone and no person, or persons, can use their rights to deprive you of yours. Therefore, any ruling, law or regulation that would restrict a speaker in any forum from speaking his or her mind is unconstitutional.

It’s time to wake up. If you give away your freedom, it’s likely it will never be retrieved.
