As a fellow practitioner in hybrid/Cordova field for a long time, we have a lot of respect for what Telerik AppBuilder team have contributed so far. Unfortunately, they’ve made a decision to discontinue AppBuilder on May 10th, 2018. It’s rough on existing users every time this kind of situation happens.

At Monaca, we believe that our solution is a good alternative to AppBuilder and I’d like to show you how easily you can get back on track by moving to Monaca.

What is Monaca?

Monaca is a cross-platform hybrid mobile app development platform which has various cloud services and tools such as Cloud IDE (browser-based IDE), Localkit and CLI. Monaca also comes with Monaca Debugger app which is used to test your app on the fly in real-time without building it every time.

Why Monaca?

Monaca is a great alternative to Telerik AppBuilder for the following reasons:

  • Extensive support: fully supports existing app including Cordova plugins and Kendo UI
  • Quick migration process: can be imported after converting to Cordova CLI project
  • Easy to learn: Monaca’s Cloud IDE & Localkit GUI will feel very familiar if you have used any other IDEs before
  • Flexible development environment: provides browser IDE for online development, and CLI or GUI desktop tool for local development
  • Additional development features: companion live test and debugger app, remote online build, push notifications and more
  • Works with popular frontend frameworks and UI frameworks.
  • Technical support and active community.
