ASB Updates 10/28/2018

ASB discussed lots of new proposals this week. Here’s a list of everything we talked about.

1. This week, ASB discussed raising prices in the Birdfeeder in order to increase our profit and potential ASB funds for dances and other spirit events.
2. We also voted on the recent discussion to fund the girl’s soccer game. Many ASB members last week felt uncomfortable with their votes and felt that they were not only unfairly swayed by their peers, but also didn’t have all the information necessary to make an unbiased decision. This week we decided to revote on the issue, and made the decision to not fund the girl’s soccer spirit event.
3. In light of the confusion surrounding voting procedures, ASB also spent time this week reviewing how we vote and discussing ways to make voting less biased and more informed in the future.
4. We also discussed a proposal to pay $20 a month for the ASB website, which will be voted on next week.
5. ASB also agreed to support the Transgender Support Day.
6. Finally, we talked about bringing food for future meetings. Eddie Button will bring pie. He’s excited.
