Ask Annabelle — Week Three
Ask Annabelle is the Weekly Hoot’s advice column. Here you can get answers to all your questions about high school, friends, or just life in general. Questions are completely anonymous, so ask away. We hope we can help!
Q: What should I do if a close friend of mine is spreading fake gossip about me?
Most of the time, when fake gossip is being spread, there is a miscommunication between friends. Go have a conversation with them to see if you can figure out why they spread that gossip. If that doesn’t work, find a trusted adult and talk to them about it. Don’t try to deal with this alone, because it makes it so much more difficult to process mentally. Everyone around you are more than happy to help you get through this.
Q: What’s the best movie to watch when I’m sad?
There are two different types of movies to watch when you’re sad. If you just want a good cry, I recommend watching My Girl, Toy Story 3, Dead Poet’s Society, or The Notebook. These movies are almost guaranteed to help you cry and let everything out. If you’re sad and you want to be happy, you should watch any Disney movie, any musical (I recommend Grease or Singing In The Rain), or Breakfast Club. Obviously, these aren’t an exclusive list of movies you could watch, these are just some suggestions. If you need someone to talk to when you’re sad, you can message me through the link below, message me on Facebook or Instagram, or find me in person.
Q: Can I go to the counselor if I’m feeling down at Overlake?
Yes! That’s what the counselors are for! If you are feeling stress or down, go talk to the counselors. They want to help you succeed in life and be happy. They are all super nice and even if you don’t want to talk you can just go sit in their offices. (They also have candy!)
