On September 23rd, the Boys Varsity Ultimate won their first game in over a year against the Bush School, 9–7. Unfortunately, the Ultimate team’s season last year did not go as hoped, and they lost every single game. Determined to change that, the boys have been working super hard since the end of school, having throw-a-rounds and player-run practices all through the summer. They felt especially determined after their first game which they lost 10–11 to University Prep, after being up 10–9 with minimal time left. The players even set up their own extra practice on the Sunday before their Bush game to be extra sure that they were prepared for their matchup. “It felt amazing to have all of our hard work throughout the beginning of the season, finally pay off with a hard-earned win,” said Shivesh Ummat, one of the captains of the team. All the boys were extremely excited to break their losing streak along with new varsity head Andrew Gold’s first win. Hopefully, the boys team will continue their new winning streak in future games.
