Freshen Up

Getting ready for your day helps you feel your best. Don’t underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep. Sleeping is essential and can make all the difference when trying to have a successful and productive day. Waking up a little bit early to shower, or showering the night before, helps you feel clean, and starting your day feeling clean is a simple source of happiness. Additionally, washing your face will make you feel clean, awake. Many people enjoy smelling nice, so finding something you enjoy, such as applying deodorant or perfume, can help give you a sense of reassurance and boost your confidence.

Get Out of Your Pajamas!

Staying in your pajamas all day can give off a lazy vibe at the start of your day. Getting up a little early, making your bed, and getting dressed are a few tasks that will ultimately give you a smoother start to your day and begin your productivity. Getting dressed could mean another pair of sweatpants; it doesn’t have to mean wearing a blouse, jeans, or skirt. Getting out of your pajamas also gives you a signal that it is time to start the day, and helps you get in the mood for starting your day.

Dress Appropriately for the Occasion

Dressing according to the occasion can help you feel more confident and help you fit in more. Asking around and getting an idea of what other people will wear/finding a dress code is essential so you can plan your own outfit accordingly and fit in. It is important to feel in place and know how to dress for a particular occasion to ensure this feeling. However, dressing to be yourself can be more comfortable than dressing according to a dress code, find a good in-between.

Prepare for Emergencies

Preparing for any emergencies or problems that you might encounter will help you dress for success. Showing up to work or school drenched in the rain would impact the mood of your whole day and make it less enjoyable. Additionally, getting a rip in your tights will likely bother you throughout the day. A great way to prepare for any weather-related problems is to check the weather. If you have extra space, packing a raincoat or umbrella with you just in case would be beneficial. You can also make an emergency bag that you can carry with you. The bag can hold an endless amount of things. A few ideas are toothpicks, dental floss, bandages, hair ties, and an extra pair of tights!

Dress in What Makes You Confident

Confidence is key! You want to feel happy and confident in the outfit you chose. Dressing in something that doesn’t feel like you can create unnecessary discomfort. You would instead feel secure in an outfit that you don’t necessarily “fit in” while wearing, then wearing an outfit that doesn’t feel like yourself. Often you should find a balance of fitting in and being true to yourself. Confidence is not an outfit; it is a mindset. Remember when leaving your house in the morning that the true secret for dressing for success is self-confidence.
