Across the corridor, the girl picked up an item. Its surface was bumpy and opaque. She shuddered and dropped the item due to the sucky texture. She recoiled her hands as she heard a gentle whisper come from the item. It was clear that this was no regular item. The voice was scratchy, like it was laced with radio static. The surrounding brick and mortar crumbled and the chimney threatened to fall imminently. The girl fell back, glancing at the hand that had touched the item. A wound started to appear. She ran out into the nearby cemetery, which was shrouded in fog. Despite the ominous fog, there seemed to be nothing out of the norm. The names of the dead in the cemetery implied the global reach of death. Slowly, as the girl walked back to the house, she spotted a stock of dead bodies. Clearly, the bodies had been here for a while, for nearby vultures had found them tasty and consumed them almost to the bone. Suddenly, one of the skeletons lurched upright and made an announcement, “We found another one, boys!” The girl thought she might be suffering from a severe vitamin deficiency — surely, the skeleton couldn’t be talking! She grabbed the skeleton by the elbow and wrenched its arm off. She shoved the torn-off arm into the skeleton’s mouth. “Your death is now absolute!” she cried, running away. The girl ran so far that she found herself on a wide countryside lane. She spotted a coalition of skeletons running towards her and shook her fist in anger. The coalition of skeletons held a banner aloft, declaring the colors of their gang. While running, the girls saw in the distance another band of skeletons, walking towards her with a crossbow and weapons in their hands. Soon, the wide lane exploded with dozens of small skirmishes as the two groups of skeletons collided. Their battle in that small lane provided the definition of the word “clatter.” But the girl had a different idea. She managed to frame one of the leaders of the skeletons gang for not paying taxes, thus imprisoning him and ending the war. The IRS makes no exception for the dead. The girl predicted an excellent career for herself as an IRS agent in the future.
