4/22 to 4/27

Monday: The week kicked off with Earth Day, and a reminder from our Environmental Club (complete with giant tree branches) to recycle and compost correctly. It was also Back to the Classroom, where parents visited classes.

Wednesday: At lunch on Wednesday, students brought their driver’s licenses and were registered to vote. There were cookies.

Thursday: The Upper School got to see the Our Town play! It was so exciting and interesting for everyone to see the new play format in the round, and to celebrate the actors for all their hard work. The actors put on another show in the evening. Thank you for a fantastic performance!

Friday: Friday was a busy day. During Parliament, 9th — 11th graders listened to speeches from candidates campaigning for major ASB positions. Everyone voted online before the school day was done and are waiting for the results to come out on Monday. Besides the speeches, there was another play performance in the evening, followed by Dj’s Night Out from 9:30–11 pm. This dance was DJ’d by students, and those who attended were told to bring their own theme.

Saturday: You thought it all stopped after Friday? Our Town had two more wonderful performances on Saturday, wrapping up their show.

Looking Forward to the 4/29–4/3 Week

For many students, this week seems to be riddled with tests, debates, and essays, but it’s also the week to support all your friends in orchestra, band, and choir!

Monday: ASB results are announced

Wednesday: The Overlake Orchestra performs at 7:30 pm.

Thursday: The Concert Band and Jazz Band will perform at 7:30 pm in Fulton.

Friday: The upper school choirs (and acapella groups) perform at 7:30 pm.
