Welcome to this week’s edition of “The Weekly Run-Down”, Friday’s episode of “The Other Side of the Firewall” podcast. Join, Ryan Williams Sr., Shannon Tynes, and Daniel Acevedo as we navigate through the dynamic and ever-evolving world of cybersecurity, it’s crucial to occasionally step back and engage with the broader cultural phenomena that shape our daily lives. This week, dive into a series of discussions that transcend the usual technical chatter, offering a refreshing mix of personal insights, cultural critiques, and expert analysis on pressing issues that impact both the cyber world and society at large.

The Rebirth Of A Legend

FFVII Rebirth is dripping with style. If your a fan of the original you owe it to your inner-child to play this version.

As a super fan of all things Final Fantasy VII, my perspective on its latest iteration, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, may carry a hint of bias. Having played every spin-off (except Ever Crisis, as mobile gaming isn’t my forte), I can confidently say that nothing holds a candle to this magnificent remake-rebuild hybrid. If the Final Fantasy VII Remake was just an appetizer, then Rebirth is a buffet.

This game’s scope is colossal, dwarfing the original which spanned three compact discs back when games still fit within a SNES cartridge. I fell in love with JRPGs in 1997 when the original Final Fantasy VII debuted on the PlayStation. It was groundbreaking — with a captivating soundtrack, stunning graphics, and a story that left an indelible mark on a fourteen-year-old who is now merely three weeks shy of his 41st birthday.

For those sitting on the fence about revisiting this epic saga that took 27 years to remake, I urge you to take the plunge. This reimagined version of the timeless classic is meticulously fleshed out and even more visually stunning than its predecessor. It truly is more than just the sum of its parts. With 27 hours already logged and 100% completion in the first two expansive areas, I find myself just embarking on Chapter 4, with many more to explore, yet I’m thoroughly enjoying every moment.

Take on the challenge, hop on your Chocobo and meet me at the Gold Saucer!
