In our last discussion, we highlighted that in Taipei City for the year 2023, the most prevalent job types in the Data Science and Analytics (DSA) domain were Data Analysts, followed by Data Scientists.
When we delve into the geographic distribution across Taipei’s 12 districts, the majority of job openings are concentrated in Neihu (24%), Xinyi (17%), Zhongshan (13%), and Songshan (12%).
It’s interesting to note that the distribution of four types of job roles — including Data Engineers and Algorithm Engineers — does not vary significantly across different areas, with Neihu, Xinyi, and Zhongshan emerging as the key hubs.
Looking at the industry segmentation, the Information and Communication Technology sector leads in offering DSA-related jobs, accounting for approximately 43% of the total, followed by Finance and Insurance (17%), and Professional Services (11%).
In terms of educational prerequisites, most job roles do not specify a minimum academic degree. However, there are certain industry-specific trends. For instance, in the Manufacturing industry, a larger proportion of roles demand a Master’s degree or higher. Similarly, for Data Scientists in the Healthcare and Social Welfare sector, there is a noticeable demand for candidates with a doctoral degree or above.
