Bridging the Skills Shortage
One educator at a time.
A few weeks ago, we announced the launch of our Educators’ Network — our attempt at bridging the skills shortage in the Education sector. The Educators’ Network is a community of Educators who are passionate about education and have a strong appreciation of technology. Our goal is to recruit recent graduates, train them and deploy to schools across the country.
Since opening up the call last month, we have received over 1,500 applications across different locations, within and outside the country. It is exciting for us to have attracted passionate individuals who are interested in educating the next generation. We had applicants with varying academic qualifications, the highest of which had BScs, followed by NCE, HND, OND and Masters Degree holders. We even had a few Phd holders apply! Their academic backgrounds were even more diverse — from Accounting, Law, Economics, Medicine, to Biochemistry, Mass Communications, Engineering and Microbiology.
What’s Next?
All applications are currently under review. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the next stage, which is the Digital Literacy and STEM assessment. Assessments will take place in centres in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Jigawa. In the meantime, here are some highlights from the application captured in this infographic. Read, share and let us have your comments!
