Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of our Educators’ Network — a network of trained facilitators, capable of leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience in classrooms.

At re:learn, our focus is on helping students and schools use technology in smart ways to enhance learning. Ultimately, our goal is to improve the quality of, and access to, education in Nigeria.

Over the past 5 years, our work in Education has spanned the southern and northern parts of Nigeria. In particular, the focus has been on identifying innovative ways technology can improve learning outcomes for students across the country. By providing rich and engaging content for STEM subjects to enhance the experience of learning in the classroom.

According to a 2015 report by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), in order to reach the 2030 Global Education goal of Education for All, countries around the world must recruit 69 million teachers, to provide every child with primary and secondary education.

Of this number, 17 million are required by Sub-Saharan Africa, a majority of which will be needed by Nigeria, due to her population size. This means we need an average of 1.2 million new teachers to join the education workforce each year! This poses a challenge to not only bridge the gap in terms of quantity, but also quality of teachers.

We’re addressing this through the Educators’ Network — a new wave of Educators capable of leveraging technology to educate the next generation. Recent graduates who are passionate about education and have an appreciation for technology are recruited and trained as full time STEM educators. We can’t think of a better time to launch this, especially given the recent rise in unemployment.

Through a thorough application and selection process, successful candidates are trained, and then deployed to schools. Benefits to Educators include a competitive salary, guaranteed placements in schools, regular personal training and a flexible teaching schedule.

The Educators’ Network will be launching in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Jigawa states. Applications are open to individuals between the ages of 21–35 years, and who are resident in any the launch locations. To apply to the Educators’ Network, visit www.relearn.ng/network.

Let’s work together, to create better outcomes for our young people!
