A US couple is suing a fertility clinic after discovering their now-adult daughter is not biologically connected to her father.
Mike and Jeanine underwent the fertility procedure at a hospital in 1991 Ohio; their daughter was born the following year. The process involves injecting sperm directly into the uterus to increase the chance of becoming pregnant. In the lawsuit against Summa Health System and Dr Nicholas Spirtos, the duo says they used a stranger’s genetic material to inseminate Mrs Harvey.
