Missing Teen Found Buried in Father’s Backyard 30 Years Later
For 3 decades, Dennis Bowman swore Aundria ran away from home. She was buried in his backyard the entire time.
When 17-year-old Cathy Terkanian gave her newborn daughter, Alexis Badger, up for adoption, she envisioned a future filled with happiness and laughter. One with financial stability and supportive parents who would provide Alexis with everything she needed, keep her safe, and love her unconditionally. Sadly, reality painted a much darker picture.
At 10 months old, Alexis was adopted by Dennis and Brenda Bowman and renamed Aundria. Nearly 10 years later, Brenda gave birth to their second daughter, Vanessa, and the family of four settled in Hamilton, Michigan.
On March 11, 1989, 14-year-old Aundria confided in Brenda that Dennis had been molesting her since age 13. Sadly, Brenda accused the teen of lying.
With nowhere to turn, Aundria confided in a teacher. The authorities were contacted and a social worker paid a visit to the Bowman home, however, the couple denied the allegations, insisting Aundria was simply acting out after discovering that she had been adopted. Immediately after, Dennis relocated the family to a rural, isolated area, and soon after that, Aundria vanished.
