Dear writers — and readers,

I truly hope you are having a fantastic autumn season. Those of you who know me understand that every October, I travel. I need time away to recharge, do different things.

This year is no different. Once summer is over, I need time to collect my thoughts.

While many of you were camping, hiking, swimming, and enjoying times with your families over the summer, I stayed back and took care of the shop. This hasn’t been an easy summer for me. While the weather was glorious and I had a lot of time to manage my new goat herd, I lost a very precious dog. It was painful beyond words, although I wrote about my loss.

An essay I wrote about Tegan was accepted by the Chicken Soup for the Soul publisher, and they’ve asked me to submit more of my various stories. I’m going to be devoting some time to that. Mostly, I need some time away to regroup and consider how I spend my life. I look forward to communicating with you again soon, after some rest.

I’m glad for your friendship, your writing, and of course, interacting and reading essays here.

Now, it’s time for me to pause.

I’ll let you know when I’m back.

All the best, all the love, and wishing you the best,

Deb
