How to get food after the world ends

I always walk fast outside; one, because the weather is so bad, and two, the crime.

Without the backing of the federal government, the police force soon dissolved, the only remaining cops survived off of bribes and robbery. Without anyone to police people, and the cost of living increasing every day, more and more people are turning to crime to make money and eat food.
