Get Over It

A poem of grief and loss

Maybe I’ll never get over it
Maybe I’ll never heal
Maybe this is good as it gets now
And this wound is a part of me

Maybe I’ll never get over it
Maybe I’ll always hurt
Maybe the grief is forever
And this pain is a part of me

In memory of my mother Patricia Reid Spurrill (June 12, 1953 — November 27, 2012)
