Got Hacked At Work

No Internet, No Email, for Days

A drawing of a man wearing spectacles and a suit using a laptop. Someone dressed all in black and wearing a mask holds a fishing pole. The fishing hook is hanging down in front of the laptop’s screen.

My workplace suffered a network attack over the Victoria Day May long weekend and, as a result, our IT department shut down all internal network services this week. This means no email, no network drives, no printers.

Today (Thursday, May 26) is the third day of this, as Monday was a holiday, and I am so done. Being paid to do nothing sounds great, but…

Words have always been my art. They dance for me and sing for me. They laugh for me and cry for me. They are my paint and brushes. They are my clay.
