Regina Saskatchewan Rejects Bigoted School Board Candidates

The Regina, Saskatchewan civic election was held yesterday, November 13, 2024. I wrote previously about the concerted effort to take over our school board.
The Regina Civic Awareness and Action Network (RCAAN), a local group that “opposes diversity, inclusion and pro-2SLGBTQ+ initiatives in schools” endorsed seven candidates for school board this year.
All seven were defeated in their subdivisions.
I work for the school board, and I am openly queer, but I didn’t realize how stressed and tense and afraid I was over the results until I saw that none of these hateful bigots won. I felt a wash of cool relief over my head and shoulders when I saw the news.
