Words have always been my art. They dance for me and sing for me. They laugh for me and cry for me. They are my paint and brushes. They are my clay.

What is Freedom? A Poem

Purple block letters spell out “FREEDOM” on a black background.

What is freedom?
A treat a bully can snatch away?
An innate part of humanity?
A goal to fight for?

When those in power
Change the rules,
We lose our rights.
What is freedom?

Jailed for nothing,
Guilty until proven innocent,
Or never even tried.
A treat a bully can snatch away.

We are not born free,
Self-sufficient.
We need each other,
An innate part of humanity.

We strive for freedom,
Fight the bullies,
Share in our humanity,
A goal to fight for.
