Today we are very excited to announce the launch of MuzeRoom, a project that has been in the works for the past 9 months between co-founders Dan Wanigasekera and myself Ronan Mason. We’re a couple of hardcore music fans who developed MuzeRoom to ensure we never miss out on music news for the artists we love. It’s a site built by music fans, for music fans — with the goal of being the #1 stop for music news on the web.

So, What is MuzeRoom?

The idea behind MuzeRoom is simple — a site that curates music news, but only for the artists you truly love. MuzeRoom will:

  1. Connect with your Spotify, Facebook, or last.fm accounts to import the artists you like and listen to.
  2. Curate music content from multiple sources around the web such as YouTube, Spotify, NME, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone.
  3. Customise content for YOU — delivering music news, music videos, and new music releases — but only for the artists that you like and listen to.

Too much time is wasted these days sifting through irrelevant information to find the good stuff that really interests us as music fans. MuzeRoom pulls this all into one convenient destination, ensuring you forever stay in touch with the music that you are most passionate about.

So, rather than having to go to five different news sites a day to look for articles about bands you like, news comes to you in your own customised feeds. This saves time and creates a more engaging experience for you and the artists you truly love. And because MuzeRoom updates every 10 minutes, you’ll never again miss any news that matters to you (so remember to bookmark the site).

Login into MuzeRoom.com now for your very own personalised feed of music news, new releases, and music videos.

Sounds great! Tell Me More About How it Works.

There are three main feeds available within MuzeRoom:

  1. NewsFeed — pulls personalised music news from a list of 25 different music news websites chosen by MuzeRoom — including Pitchfork, NME, MTV, and Rolling Stone. Over time we will increase these to ensure all genres are covered no matter how obscure they are (hello BABYMETAL and Nintendocore!). You can see a full list of our sources and even control which ones your feed uses for your news.
  2. ReleasesFeed — pulls personalised new releases from Spotify, Amazon, and iTunes, and allows you to sort by ‘album’, ‘single’, or ‘EP’.
  3. VideoFeed — pulls personalised videos from YouTube and Vevo. It includes music videos, and any other videos that artists might upload — interviews, lyric videos, live footage etc.

You are in complete control of the artists you follow on MuzeRoom, and can add and remove them as you see fit. Outgrown 80’s hair metal? Remove those artists and follow your new obsession.

Music, Music, Music!

So much music, so little time

The modern music fan is overwhelmed by music content. Every year a LOT of new music is released:

  • 60,000+ new albums
  • 1,500,000+ tracks added to streaming services
  • 8,500+ music videos
  • 500,000+ music articles

Let MuzeRoom do the hard work for you, filtering this by the artists you love in order to ensure you are always kept in the loop.

But I have Facebook and Twitter, why do I need MuzeRoom?

Social media used to be a great way to stay in touch with music and all of the artists we truly care about. Unfortunately these days your newsfeed is a crowded and much sought after space. In fact, more than 30 billion pieces of content are shared across Facebook each and every MONTH. Facebook simply can’t show us everything, and so tends to show us those posts that brands and bands pay for us to see. What this means is we as music fans end up missing out on a lot of news for the artists we love.

MuzeRoom on the other hand is a music first and music only destination. There is no competition from posts about cat videos, food porn, memes, or selfies. It’s a platform designed to ensure you never again miss out on news for an artist you love.

So, What’s Next for MuzeRoom?

Launching MuzeRoom is just the beginning — we have a lot planned in terms of exciting new features to roll out in the coming months. Follow us here on Medium to hear first about any updates to the site. And please set MuzeRoom.com as your homepage to make it your number one destination for music news.
