So recently I discovered that I have a particular and peculiar talent when it comes to WWE. A talent for booking any match that involves Brock Lesnar.

It started at Wrestlemania and continued through Great Balls of Fire and on to Summerslam. Will it continue on forever? We’ll have to wait and see but there is a formula to it that definitely works in my favour. So what is the formula? What are the key steps in booking a Brock Lesnar match? Well, let me tell you.

  1. Take The Beating

Brock Lesnar is an absolute monster. Unfortunately for Brock, most of his opponents have to be portrayed in the same way, so while Finn Balor will have to use all the weapons available to him in a TLC match, someone like Goldberg or Braun Strowman will have no such problem.

Beating up Brock is a fundamental opener to any Lesnar match. The bigger the beating, the better. Back at the 2015 Royal Rumble Lesnar took on both John Cena and Seth Rollins and got put through tables early. At Fast Lane 2016 Lesnar took on Reigns and Ambrose and also got put through tables early. At Summerslam, the same.

Lesnar is booked as a world beater, so he has to get beat up some to establish believability. If you want to be like Brock Lesnar, getting beaten up as often as possible is important for your overall aesthetic.

2. Establish Dominance

Brock Lesnar is tough, so he needs to show that. Even after a firm beating, he needs to come back. It starts by taking the toughest move his opponent has to offer. Say a Jackhammer from Goldberg, or 3 AAs in a row from Cena. He kicks out of finishers for fun.

After that, it’s Suplex City time. Goldberg took 10. Cena took 16. Simple, repetitive attack shows dominance. If you want to be Brock Lesnar, throw someone at a wall once in a while. Kick someone in the face. Use a force push. It’s alright, you’re Brock Lesnar.

3. Only Just Survive

A Brock match always features at least one moment of desperate survival. At Wrestlemania, it was the leapfrog over Goldberg. I didn’t see that coming, I’ve got to be honest. Look for what’s being built up before the match. Is Samoa Joe winning a lot using the Coquina Clutch? Well, Lesnar’s powering out of it to hit an F5. Roman Reigns using a lot of superman punches? Lesnar’s dodging it and hitting an F5.

So if you want to be Brock Lesnar, and Braun Strowman has you over his shoulder, get ready to drop back and hit that German Suplex.

Then again, if you’re Brock Lesnar, you won’t be reading this. You’ve be out beating up a tank or something. Congratulations, dude.
