Marty Scurll, “The Villain,” is the biggest rising star in the independent wrestling scene is more talented than at least half of the WWE roster, in my opinion. Now, first thing’s first - I’m not jumping on the Villain’s bandwagon because he joined The Bullet Club and I have proof on our podcast of me speaking of Marty and his future way before his explosion of fame because of the Bullet Club. Marty’s character is absolute genius and a work of art. He’s a fucking merciless villain bad ass wearing a sweet crow mask, fur coat, and carries an umbrella. His music goes along perfect with his character, usually gets the biggest pop of the night and the catchy “woop woop” chants when his music hits is pure gold. Even Japanese commentators play along! His promos are flawless and his work on the mic seems effortless. His skills in the ring speak for itself, he is the king of the chicken wing and snapping guys fingers is something you don’t see every day in a wrestling ring. Yes, I am selling the shit out of Marty but oh well, it needs to be done and here are my two cents.

In my opinion Professional Wrestling is in a tough spot, especially in WWE. The company that went from the attitude era with amazing characters and storylines that kept you wanting more to the PG-13 “Entertainment” era with bullshit characters like The New Day and storylines that have you wondering what the fuck is the WWE doing. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out most of this boils down to the power struggle between Vince and Triple H. Also the WWE’s problem is the independent wrestling scene, mostly the Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling partnership. You have amazing talent like Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, Marty Scurll, The Guerrillas of Destiny, The Young Bucks, Jay White, etc. I could go on and on. You have all this talent that back in the day would kill for a WWE contract but there has been quite a shift in recent years with the exposure other companies have gotten. These guys are making a killing between wrestling for any promotion they want, selling their own merchandise, capitalizing on meet and greets and ultimately have creative control over their characters. WWE is missing out on serious talent and the wrestlers they did convince to sign contracts, like Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, are being ruined.

Imagine how awesome the WWE would be if they went back to the good old attitude era where wrestling was at its best. Picture guys like Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, The Young Bucks and Marty Scurll in the WWE. It would be completely unstoppable and WWE’s stock would be out of this world. A guy like Marty Scurll could easily be WWE Champion and carry the company, in my opinion. Unfortunately, it will never be possible; these guys are so successful on the independent scene that they don’t need a WWE contract.

Marty is going to take Ring of Honor to the next level because he going to be World Champion soon and he will carry the company along with the Young Bucks and the rest of the Bullet Club to new heights. With their partnership with New Japan and the world dominance of the Bullet Club and the amazing talent both promotions have, they will continue to grow and I honestly feel they will hurt the WWE because they have better talent, storylines, and the leadership of both promotions. Fans of ROH and NJPW would rather see guys like The Villain instead of the played out bullshit of John Cena. Wrestling fans that only followed WWE and expand into ROH and NJPW soon realize that the talent is out of this world and rising star Marty Scurll is your complete all around package and the future of wrestling. Long Live the Villain!!!!!
