The game was played in worst conditions on Saturday but it was enough to give the Cubs a jolt late in the game. The Cubs stormed back with 9 runs in the 8th inning to take the lead and beat the Braves 14–10.

Javier Baez hit a bases clearing double, and Kyle Schwarber drew a bases-loaded walk to put the Cubs ahead. The Braves would walk Jason Heyward, Schwarber and Tommy La Stella in succession before. Then the Braves threw a wild pitch to score Heyward, followed by a throwing error that enabled Schwarber to score.

The late rally took left-hander Jose Quinta off the hook. Quintana lasted only 2 1/3 innings as he allowed a leadoff home run to Ozzie Albies before ultimately being pulled. Eleven batters reached base safely against Quintana, who ended up being charged seven runs.

Eddie Butler saved a chunk of the bullpen, but he was downed by errors by Javier Baez and Addison Russell that led to a run in the fourth. Albert Almora Jr. hit a home run in the first in his return to the lineup.

The Cubs are now 7–7 on the year and will go for the series win tomorrow, weather permitting.
