The last time Yu Darvish stepped to the mound in a meaningful game things didn’t go so well. Darvish, who was at the time an LA Dodger, would struggle horrifically in Game 7 of the World Series allowing 5 runs in just 2 innings. Now Yu takes the mound in a different blue uniform as he tries to help the Cubbies find their way back to the World Series in 2018.

The Cubs are coming off a 17 inning Marathon in which they fell to the Marlins 2–1 and are looking for Yu to right the ship. Darvish has only faced the Marlins twice in his 7 year career and it’s been a bit of a mixed bag in those 2 starts. In 2014 Darvish, a Texas Ranger, threw his only career shutout against the Marlins, but in his 2nd career start against them, as a Dodger, he gave up 10 runs against them. Of course we are hoping this start resembles the 2014 start and not the 2017 start.

No matter what the outcome you can bet that all eyes will be on Yu as he steps on the mound tonight at 7:10 ET in Marlins Park to officially begin his Chicago Cubs career.
