Jose Quintana Will Face Clayton Kershaw In Game 1 Of NLCS
Game 5 of the NLDS was a crazy affair to put it mildly. John Lackey and Justin Wilson were the only arms left in the bullpen. Jose Quintana threw 12 pitches in the game. Wade Davis recorded the final 7 outs. Joe pushed all of his chips to the center of the table. It worked. The Cubs are back in the NLCS for the third straight year.
All of the discussion the last two days has been about who would start game 1 of the NLCS. Joe Maddon, Jed Hoyer, and Theo Epstein have decided on lefty Jose Quintana. The southpaw has faced multiple current Dodgers players. Logan Forsythe has 11 AB’s against Quintana. He has 5 hits including 3 doubles, a HR, and 5 RBI’s. That will be a key match up in tonight's game. He will be squaring off with Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw.
Corey Seager is not on the Dodgers 25 man roster due to a back injury.
