The Cubs are on a roll to say the least. They are now 11–2 since coming back from the All Star break and they have no plans of looking back after their 6–3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The Cubs have taken the crosstown series for the first time since 2013 after splitting the last two seasons. Now the Brewers are waiting for the Cubs in Milwaukee.

Jon Lester turned in another solid outing giving up 2 runs over the course of his 7 innings pitched. Lester also struck out four during the game. Carl Edwards Jr came on in relief in the 8th inning and did not give up a run. Koji Uehara closed out the game for the Cubs allowing Jose Abreu to hit his second solo shot of the night.

Kyle Schwarber recorded a monster game at the plate. Crushing two home runs and 4 RBI’s. Schwarber continues to look more comfortable at the plate since coming back from Triple A Iowa. Anthony Rizzo hit his 24th home run of the season in the fourth inning. Kris Bryant also added an RBI on a sac fly earlier in the game.

The Cubs will now head to Milwaukee to take on the struggling Brewers who are now 1.5 games back of the Cubs in the NL Central Standings. It will be a big series as the Cubs hope to continue their hot streak and take a bigger lead in the standings.

Jose Quintana will be on the mound for the Cubs on Friday night. First pitch is slated for 7:10 PMCST.
