Writing on Medium: What Matters and What Doesn’t

Help for focusing your attention the right things.

There are things that matter on Medium and things that don’t so much.

Or, maybe that’s not fair. Let’s put it this way. There are things that will give you a good return for your time and effort and things that won’t, so much. Knowing where you to put your attention matters a lot.

As far as I can tell, after three years of experience, here’s the breakdown.

Things That Matter a Lot

A) An email list. I can’t stress this enough. If you’re a blogger, you need to start building an email list. Today. Your email lists means you can directly let people, who have let you know they’re interested, know that you’ve written a post.
