He’s an inspiration for any writer. Let him be yours.

Ray Bradbury would celebrated his 100th birthday a few days ago. He may have died in 2012, but he left an amazing legacy for all future writers.

As a writer, if you’ve never read any of Ray Bradbury’s work, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of his book, Zen in the Art of Writing. Like his work or not, Ray Bradbury was a prolific writer with an instantiable thrust for words.

“Just write every day of your life. Read intensely. Then see what happens. Most of my friends who are put on that diet have very pleasant careers.”

― Ray Bradbury

This has to be one of my favourite quotes from him. There is no pressure in that quote, no expectations. But you can feel his love for the words and his enthusiasm.

See what happens … yes, let’s see what happens. It could be marvellous; it could be wonderful. It could be the best thing you ever do.

The Ray Bradbury Challenge

In his book, Ray Bradbury tells writers to read every day. As he puts it, to stuff their heads before they go to bed at night.
