Two poets sat upon the bank of a creek. The younger poet spent every possible moment scribbling words. While the older poet rarely wrote, spending most of his time in leisure drinking and or conversing with peers. Both created beautiful poems leaving the younger poet confused by the older poet’s skillfulness despite his laziness.
So, while along the creek the younger poet asked the older poet, “Why do you not write very often?”
The older poet answered, “Trees spend their entire lives writing, roots and rings are how they tell their tales.”
