31 Days of Horror: Creep 2 (2017)
Creep 2 is a perfect sequel to Creep (2014)
I first heard about the film Creep (2014) from a coworker of mine in 2015. The film was about a young videographer that answers an online ad for a one-day job in a remote town to record the last messages of a dying man. He soon finds out that the dude is a stalker and serial killer. The film ends with the guy killing the videographer.
I absolutely loved the film because it was so crazy. The cast consisted of three people and was all in found footage style. The killer (played by Mark Duplass) made the movie. He played such a convincing crazy killer.
Tonight, when I was looking for a movie to watch, I just happened to be on Netflix and saw Creep 2 (2017). I couldn’t resist watching that one.
And boy, I was not disappointed.
The film starts with Dave (played by Karan Soni) being stalked much like the videographer in the first film. The killer, still played by Duplass) quickly dispatches Dave but doesn’t take any glee in it and starts to question his future as a serial killer. It’s such a relatable feeling that you can’t help sympathizing with the killer named Aaron (he was called Josef in the first film, but he assumed the name Aaron from the videographer in the first film).
