I went from watching a 50-year-old film to watching a film that was released a month ago. Here’s my review of Elevator Game (2023)

Elevator Game (2023) — IMDb

For the second night of 31 Days of Horror, I chose a film that was released less than a month ago. Elevator Game was released on Sept. 15 and is viewable through the horror streaming service Shudder.

As a side note, I absolutely adore Shudder. It’s fairly cheaper than most streaming services and offers a whole lot of new and old horror movies. I should mention that this is not a paid sponsorship. Anyway, back to the review.

Directed by Rebekah McKendry and written by David Ian McKendry and Travis Seppala, Elevator Game is based on an online creepy pasta story. The story goes that if you press the right combination of elevator floors and follow all the rules, you’ll be transported to an alternate dimension. However, if you fail to follow all the rules, the dreaded ‘5th Floor Woman’ will kill you.

The film follows a group of high school graduates as they try to grow their YouTube channel. The newest member of the team is Ryan, played by Gino Anania. When the team is lacking ideas for content, Ryan suggests that they play the Elevator Game. Well, as one can expect all Hell breaks loose and they’re stalked by the dreaded 5th Floor Woman.
