For Day 5 of the challenge, I watched the rebooted Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I have to preface this review by stating that I have never watched any of the previous Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, but I do know the premise and basic information about the first movie.

Also, massive spoiler alert if you haven’t seen the film.

Having never seen a TCM film before, I thought that the perfect introduction to the franchise would have to be the newest one… right?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) picks up the story 48 years later. Apparently Leatherface has decided to run away and hide after letting Sally Hardesty escape. Hardesty has become a law enforcement officer so that she can try to track down Leatherface and put to rest the trauma that has been haunting her since she escaped Leatherface.

The film picks up following a new set of twenty somethings as they travel to Harlow, Texas. Harlow is a ghost town. Dante, played by Jacob Latimore, and Melody, played by Sarah Yarkin, are Instagram famous Chefs. I’m not terribly sure, but it seems as if they purchased the entire Town of Harlow.

The purpose behind the purchase is to create a safe space for other twenty somethings. However, it wouldn’t be pure capitalism if Melody and Dante didn’t get…
