When it comes to San Diego, some may think that beaches with beautiful sunsets might be the main reason that brings people to visit. However, there are many amazing locations to hang out, and the best things to do in San Diego. From photographic scenery, breath-taking beaches, to the vibrant art scene, and the beauty of cultural diversity, San Diego has embraced its unique charm. With the temperate weather, it is nice to go outside and enjoy some of the greatest relaxing, surfing, and scenic spots.

I would like to share my top 4 best locations to visit in San Diego with family, friends, or loved ones!

  1. La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove

It is one of the most ideal spots for both locals and visitors around the world. La Jolla Cove is well-known for its breathtaking sunsets and majestic sea lions. There are a variety of kids activities, seaside dining locations and it is close to the Village of La Jolla. It not only leads visitors to experience the Cove, but also to fall in love with the La Jolla lifestyle.

2. The Cave store

The view from the Cave Store sea cave

The Cave Store is not just a simple gift shop. It is home to a tunnel that brings us to a picturesque sea cave. It may sound surprising but once you get in there, you will be amazed by a secret route that leads to the wonder of nature. With the seal sighting and the beautiful scenery, sea caves fulfill all the attractions in one place. However, there is an entrance fee to enter the cave: the price varies by adults and children.

3. Old town

Old Town, San Diego CA

If you want to explore the history of Spanish and Mexican culture, visit Old Town! There are festive shops, markets, historical buildings, as well as entertaining museums. It is located in the heart of the city of San Diego. The environment gives the vibe of the early 1800s with the ancient buildings beautifully preserved and many oldest shops and restaurants. Old Town has a wealth of dining choices, and a beautiful scene of dressed Folkloric dancers.

4. Balboa park

Balboa Park, San Diego

Balboa park can be described as a ‘wonderland.’ The visitors can enjoy impressive attractions such as live performance venues, cultural attractions and events, and scientific inquiry all in one place. Balboa Park is most well known for its Botanical Building. The view is extraordinarily beautiful with its lighting and decorations, especially at night time. The park also brings the huge admiration of the architecture around Balboa Park’s Plaza. It is a must visit place!

Things may be a bit different due to the social distancing and the pandemic outbreak. Nonetheless, that does not mean you cannot visit! Make sure to put these locations in your to-go list to visit with your loved ones!
