Let's Face it, Writing is About the Money 💰

It is a hard truth to admit

The Dream: Wouldn't it be nice if we could do what we love without thinking about making money from it? Yes, it would!

The Reality: But, unfortunately, free has never paid for our cost of living.

To do what you love, you have to first be able to live. And to live, you need an income to support at least your bare minimum basic needs.

For many of us, in the short term, this source of income is either a part-time or full-time career we work to cover our living expenses. And during our spare time, we work on our side projects with $0 or minimum earnings gained from it, at least starting off and a few years into it.

We sacrifice doing what we love for free with the expectation that in the long term, we will be rewarded. Rewarded in being able to replace our current income or above our current income with our side project(s) income.

So I leave you with this encouragement, for us to remember we freely and patiently sow now, so later we can reap the bountiful harvest - the conversion of our time into good earnings.

Thanks for reading my perspective :)
