when the zombie apocalypse comes,
i hope my body dies and stays
dead because i have walked
while not alive and i will not
return to that state of being
un-being and feeling
un-feeling and living
un-living; and having been
resuscitated and now knowing
the flood of life in veins once-rotted
and breath in lungs once-shriveled,
i tell you — burn this body
after its corpse encore,
restore it to dust and ashes,
it was never more than a tent
(temporary and trying)
— and i am so much more than that,
remember me as so much more than that,
please just let me be so much more than that
body.
