I’ve Tried Every Monetization Strategy For My Writing. Here Are Five That Actually Worked.
Turn your writing into a sustainable income.
Over the years, I’ve experimented with nearly every way to make money from writing. Some worked like magic; others flopped hard.
If you want to turn your words into income, I want to save you time by sharing what actually works.
Here’s what’s worth your effort — and what isn’t.
1. Freelance Writing: The Fastest Way to Get Paid
When I first started monetizing my writing, freelance writing was my go-to. It’s one of the quickest ways to make money because you don’t need a huge audience — just clients willing to pay for your skills.
I shared my work on LinkedIn, which helped me land my first gigs. Finding clients on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr might also help.
Eventually, I built a portfolio and started charging higher rates. Businesses will pay you if you can write blog posts, copy, or even emails.
What works: Niching down. I attracted higher-paying clients in that field when I positioned myself as a finance writer.
