For a long time, the only way to travel within the islands in Hawaii was through airplanes. In the later 2000s, the introduction of the Superferry was another way people could travel from island to island. [3]
It abruptly ended, leaving people with only one mode of travel within the islands. I always believed having more choices for people to make is always better for the consumer. I thought the Superferry had a chance to do well; unfortunately, that was not the case.
It’s been over a decade since the last time people had the choice to choose how they wanted to travel, but recently I came across seaglider planes on YouTube and had to google it to find that the part boat-part airplanes are powered 100% electric-powered have speeds about 160 Knots (nautical miles per hour), 180 mph, 300 km/hr).
