Hark M’ladies,

Spring break nears. With it comes Scrabble with grandma, freshly squeezed juice, and, most importantly, your impending wisdom teeth surgery. Those suckers are coming out, and a week of Kozy Shack Chocolate Pudding is coming in. I would say that I’m sorry, but I’m not. My wisdom teeth have fully surfaced, and I’m all the wiser for it.

In this week’s front, the Herald turns to some slightly different sources of wisdom. YH Staff sat down with eight different members of the Yale community who are working on issues related to climate change research and advocacy at Yale. From legal scholars to ancient historians, student activists to MPH candidates, these efforts are wide-ranging but committed to a common cause.

Elsewhere, Elliot Wailoo, SY ’21, meets with Hamden’s youngest sitting council member, Justin Farmer, to talk about his unconventional path to local politics. In Culture, Sanoja Bhaumik, MC ’19, chats with Sofia Campoamor, MC ’19, about the road to becoming a Whiffenpoof. And if the journey, not the destination, is really what you’re into, head over to Opinions, where Linus Lu, DC ’19, and Johnny Gross, MC ’21, discuss the selectivity of Yale extracurriculars.

The issue we’ve selected for you is something new. We bring you: the Interview Issue, where nearly every piece is in interview format. I hope this will offer a refreshing read as you gear up for all your dentistry escapades to come.

Fare thee well,

Fiona Drenttel
