Yang’s key to bipartisan success.

Andrew Yang is already a promoter of political unity through the Humanity First ideals. However he obviously has more Democratic support considering he is a candidate in the Democratic primary. The Freedom Dividend has gotten him this far, but now he needs to “pander” to a more conservative and patriotic base of Americans.

The ideas that will put Yang out in front and differentiate him from the rest of the Democratic field are his slew of veteran policies. They include “Military Training: The Gold Standard, Improving Veteran Health, Reverse Boot Camp, Controlled Substance Waivers for Veterans, the Every Vet Under a Roof Initiative, etc.”

I want to highlight his “Military Training: The Gold Standard” and “Reverse Boot Camp” policies.

“Military Training: The Gold Standard” is a policy that will allow skill sets and trades learned in the military, to be used in the civilian workforce. Once leaving the military, you would get a certification/license to help get a decently paid job within your area of skills. This is very beneficial for veterans who do not want to go back to school and get re-educated, especially in a field they know like the backs of their hands.

“Reverse Boot Camp” is a policy that would prepare veterans to re-enter civilian life without much of a culture shock. Yang wants to provide financial advising and education to returning veterans so that they know how to better manage money and reduce their chances of homelessness.

Yang is not a veteran but he seems to understand the underlying problems of our ever-upward suicide and homelessness rates among our veterans. Suicide rates are rising and life expectancy has been declining for the past 3 years, homeless veterans are particularly susceptible to this statistic. In 2014, an average of 20 veterans committed suicide each day, and it hasn’t gotten any better.

In the past few elections, the Democratic Party has left veterans out of their central rhetoric. Trump ran on 3 issues; Immigration, Jobs/Economy, and bringing patriotism back to the forefront of American politics. These are the reasons he was elected in. Americans are tired of the hateful, negative, and vindictive stance many politicians are taking against our great country and its military.

Yang can be the most beneficial candidate and POTUS in our recent history, the American public just needs to wake up and put Humanity First.
